California same-sex couples who want to get married have to wait at least another 9 months before the decision on the appeal of the overturning of Proposition 8 is made.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals handed down a decision March 23rd, 2011 NOT to remove the stay on the original decision to overturn Prop. 8. This means that although Proposition 8 was overturned, same-sex couples still can not apply for a marriage license until the appeal on the decision is decided. This can take up to another 9 months while there are same-sex couples who are facing life and death decisions every day without equal protection and rights.

If you would like to help continue the fight through another 9 months please help by donating $9 to the Courage Campaign using this link here.
